What is Virtual Web Hosting ? - Top

 

Innovative Minds specializes in Virtual Web Hosting which means that we offer you a space for your web site on our multiple high-speed T3 connection servers so you can establish a fast presence on the Internet. We can register your own domain name in your behalf which will become your unique address on the World Wide Web. Having your own domain name does not suggest that you are renting web space, and since e-mail can be addressed to your domain (eg. YourDomain.Com) you will not have to announce a new email address if you ever change internet providers.

Do you offer dial-up internet access ? - Top

 

Innovative Minds does not and will not provide dial-up access. We decided to have our T3 lines completely dedicated to our WWW customers only. That way we can assure high-speed performance even at prime-times. All of our virtual hosting accounts and services can be reached through your own connection to the internet.

Do you offer web page design services ? - Top

Can I check domain name availability ? - Top

 

Yes. You can check the availability of any domain directly on our web site.

 

Does Innovative Minds handle domain registrations ? - Top

 

Absolutely. Once you submitted your order we will contact InterNIC to request either a new domain name registration in your behalf or transfer your domain from your current provider to our DNS. You do NOT need to submit a registration or modification template to the InterNIC as this will only delay your request.

What is "propagation" ? - Top

 

Once the InterNIC announces that your domain name has been registered (or transferred, if applicable), it usually takes about 3 to 5 working days before it is active. All internet providers must update their records and name servers (DNS tables) to reflect new site locations. This is called propagation.

Will I have unlimited access to update my pages ? - Top

 

You have unlimited access via FTP 24-hours a day. As such, you can create and maintain your web pages on your own computer and upload files to your web site at your leisure.

Do you have any data transfer charge for MB's/month ? - Top

 

We do not charge our customer for any data transfer since we do not have any transfer limit at all.

How long does it take to set up a new account ? - Top

 

Orders submitted before 4.00pm EST which include valid credit card information will be processed the same day and are usually setup within 6 hours. Once an account is set up a WEB SPACE CONFIRMATION notice will be sent to you via e-mail. It includes your login information, password, FTP hostname and your access information for our Members Only services. You can then begin to upload files to your new virtual hosting account.

Do you offer pre-configured (canned) cgi scripts? - Top

 

Innovative Minds operates a great cgi script section for Members. There you can find numerous CGI scripts you can customize yourself, and many other Javascripts to enhance your web site.

Can I transfer an existing domain name to Innovative Minds ? - Top

 

No problem. Many of our customers have transferred domains to our service. Whether you place an order by e-mail or via our online order form, be sure to specify that you are requesting a transfer and NOT a new domain.

What is the $70 InterNIC fee for domain registration ? - Top

 

The InterNIC charges $70 to register a new domain name. This fee covers the first two years of their domain name service. They currently bill at a rate of $70 for the first two years and $35 for each year thereafter. The InterNIC will send you an invoice via regular mail about 2 to 4 weeks after the domain is registered. But you need not wait that long to use your account; the account will be activated as soon as we set it up on our side. Usually within 24 - 48 hours.
